After waiting for the clouds to get out of the way, I finally got a look at the Super Moon for this year! Super Moon, Aug 30 2015.

After waiting for the clouds to get out of the way, I finally got a look at the Super Moon for this year! If you recognize this bridge, we went to the same school and you know EXACTLY how miserbable the experience was. True to my word, I have never gone across that bridge since the day I graduated. And I never plan to do so. Today, Apr 10, we went out to the National Arboretum in NE Washington DC. The idea was to see what was there and maybe catch a glimpse of the eagles nesting there. Well, we got to see them flying around a bit and even watched them chase away a hawk, but their nest was too far away for the lens to get much. This photo shows their nest in the lower left third of the image. The photo was taken from about a half mile away, maybe more. It is a huge nest! Today, Apr 24, I have been trying out a new lens, learning how to use it. It has a lot more zoom than I'm used to. This little guy was pretty far away. Not sure how far, but this is a full frame shot from my balcony.
Every other day, they're all over the place. Today? On the other side of the fence.
Thanks For Letting Me Play With This Lens John!!! Goodbye Lee, you were a tough one!

Last night we lost a dear friend to an insidious disease, cancer.
I cannot believe how quickly you went from a happy, independent woman to a very sick and frail person. And now you’re gone, just weeks after learning of your illness. This just doesn’t make sense to me. I thought you’d outlast us all.
You’ve always been a great friend to us. You welcomed us into your home and gave us a wonderful mountain retreat from daily life. When we met 17 years ago, we didn’t know you would become one of our closest friends, but I am so happy to have been included among yours. I’ll miss you terribly lady! I don't know that I've ever seen a hummingbird sit still. This guy sat on the power lines for about 5 minutes. Unfortunately, this guy was sitting about 20 feet up with a bright sky behind him. I think he knew I couldn't get a decent shot of him. Little Jerk! Trying to capture a little guy like this when he's moving so fast is fun, but not easy. I'm glad I'm not using real film. This one picture would have cost me a fortune! Trying to capture a little guy like this when he's moving so fast is fun, but not easy. I'm glad I'm not using real film.
