Dillon, days 190 of my life in DC!

Yay! It’s my birthday again! Okay, so not really, but it feels like it. The mailman brought a big box to the house today and guess what! It was for ME! Woo Hoo. I never get mail. I don’t think that mailman guy filed my change of address. I’m just sure there’s a pile of mail waiting for me down in Georgia. Oh well, I’m getting off topic. The big box was for me, but I had to wait until Dad got home. Of course, when he got home, he had to change, get a drink, say hello to Micky, everything but help me open my box! Hmmph! Finally, he decided that we could open my box. Mom helped me because I’m not allowed to play with knives… and I don’t have thumbs to hold them. When she first opened the box, I had no idea what it was, but I spotted one important thing. I saw a BALL! I didn’t understand what was going on with it, but I knew it was a ball. Turns out it was a Ball Launcher. It looks like a big gun and is sort of scary, but it only shoots tennis balls. And it shoots them a LOOONNGG way! I was so excited to give it a try. As soon as Dad got it unstrapped from the box, we headed out for a test run, so to speak. Mom and Dad just stood on the deck while I did all the running. That’s okay, I loved it! First, you hear a big thunk and the ball goes flying into the sky. Way into the sky! It was so high up I had time to run all the way down the stairs and get ready on the grass for it to come down. Woo Hoo! This was awesome! Dad says that it was a gift from my Aunt Becky, but I don’t think I’ve met her yet. She’s gotta be really cool though. She likes balls and she knows I like em too. Thank you so much! This is an awesome way to make your birthday last! The only complaint I had was that Dad put my toy away way too soon. He said I was tired and needed a break, but I think he wanted to go inside to sit on his … butt. What a great surprise. I love my new toy and I am definitely taking it with me to Tennessee next week. All the other dogs are going to think I’m awesome! Plus, there’s a great big field where we can run around loose! I can hardly wait. This Jam thing is going to be a blast, literally!
