Dillon, day 168 of my life in DC! Sunday, 26 March 2017

Everyone should have a job and around here I’m the designated bed warmer. Any time someone gets out of bed at night, I jump up and climb in their spot to keep it warm! Even in the middle of the night, I’m on the job. This morning was the perfect opportunity to show how critical my job is. Despite the very warm day we had yesterday, the night got very cold. So, when Dad got up for a minute at 5:30, even though I was sound asleep, I mustered the strength to do my job. When Dad came back, there I was, curled up in his spot, keeping it warm. As payment for my hard work, I get cuddled up under the blankets with whoever comes back to claim their spot. The same goes for the couch. As an added bonus, I usually get scooped up and held on their lap for a bit. It’s a rough job, but I’m happy to do it. Speaking of jobs, apparently the boss around here has decreed that there will be new rules of engagement for squirrel hunting. Apparently, there have been too many casualties on the stairs. So, from now on, we’ll doing practicing new tactics to try to reduce banged up noses, elbows, and feet. I’m not sure how they plan to accomplish this, but more rules usually mean more hassles. Great… Just what we needed
